Manish Malhotra put up a spectacular grand finale at FDCI Indian Couture week 2017, with Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh walks the ramp for the designer the duo set the stage on fire. The actors have been seen together on some Television commercials before, but it was their first time together walking the Ramp for Manish. In an Interview before the show the designer revealed

“I wanted to put up a show which was a bit different. I didn’t want to do a quintessential bridal collection. His collection is all about cocktails, Sangeet and reception not for the wedding day. He said he always wished for Ranveer being a show-stopper for him, but couldn’t collaborate with him from last 3 years, but this time he made it as Ranveer has just finished his shooting for Padmawati. As per the designer both the Alia and Ranveer signify “Young and different” so it was an obvious choice.

Manish Recreated a bygone era, the collection focused on luxuriant volume and noble fabrics that added a sensuous feel to the garments.
From the colour palette and the meticulous detailing to the softness of the drapes, each element was mindfully constructed to weave together subtle nuances of legacy with the intricacy of couture. Fine antique threads and vintage motifs were used to accentuate the subtle elegance of each outfit. The collection involved a heavy dose of zari, mull work and embroidery.

Alia was donning one of the most stunning ensemble from the collection, Alia looked nothing less than a princess on the ramp. The beige and silver dress, with a long rosy trail, certainly added to the glamour and sparkle to the ramp made the actress the star of the night. . While our dapper dude Ranveer Singh, who is known for his experimental sense of style carried his ‘Allauddin Khilji’ avatar on stage. The actor looked nothing less than a king in his royal sequined blue Sherwani with intricate gold embroidery.
