
The severe rainfall during this year’s monsoon season created havoc in the state of Assam. The state continues to face heavy damage during a time like this. However, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has extended his support towards the cause and even donated as much as 1 cr rupees for flood relief.
Sarbanana Sonowal, the Chief Minister of the state was full of gratitude because of the generosity shown by the actor during the time of utmost need. He even took to twitter to extend his thanks towards the star for his noble act.

More than 100 individuals have died in the state of Assam owing to the flood conditions. Other 26 were victims of losing their lives to landslides. As of now, around 28 village districts and more than 1000 hectares of crop area have been flooding as per the ASDMA i.e. the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.
More than half of the area within Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary has also been affected by these floods and forced animals to migrate elsewhere.
