Stellar actress and also a Samajwadi Party member Jaya Bachchan got vocal and spoke about the issue of defamation of the Indian film industry in the Rajya Sabha. In her intrepid speech, she said, “Some of the people who have got name and fame has said it is ‘gutter’. It is the film industry that gave name and fame to many people. There is a continuous process to defame the industry for the things done by a handful.”
The ‘Abhimaan’ actress didn’t fail to reveal that the film industry has employed many people belonging to different areas and some of them also are the highest taxpayers. She seemed highly upset regarding the uproar being featured consistently on social networking sites and media.
After this dauntless incident, many of her colleagues and other personalities from Bollywood appreciated her speech and took to their social media handles to express how they felt about it.
Noted filmmaker Anubhav Sinha shared Jaya Bachchan’s speech and sent his sincere regards to her while mentioning ‘this is what growing a spine looks like’.

Even Taapsee Pannu has something inspiring to say about the matter.
For we have always stood by the initiatives, causes and awareness campaigns. It’s time for payback. Hitting the nail on its head and how ! 👏🏼 yet again a woman from the industry spoke up 🙏🏼 #Respect https://t.co/CVz1cTlCNw

Dia Mirza also showed her support while revealing that she agrees to all the things Jaya spoke up against.
Jayaji is absolutely right. So grateful that she spoke up for our industry. We are always committed to contribute towards social upliftment and social good. The industry has always helped governments. This vilification of our film industry is unjust and condemnable.

Tisca Chopra also shared some humble words while highlighting the positive aspects of the Indian film Industry.
Bravo #JayaBachchan.. you have spoken what many many of us have been feeling. A rotten egg or two do not an industry make. We owe the industry big, for giving us a chance to actualise dreams & indeed be the place that has allowed us and our families to prosper 🙏 https://t.co/6AZq6D1ufy
