
One of the biggest name in the Indian music industry in terms of pop, Lucky Ali is celebrating his birthday today! He was born as Maqsood Ali and is the son of the prominent Bollywood star, Mehmood Ali. He is one of the very few personalities from our industry who emerged as a solo artist when the rest of the singers would usually make their debut through playback singing in Bollywood music.
He set foot in the music scene of India with his very first titled ‘Sunoh’ in the year 1996. The album was pathbreaking in many ways as it was loved by people of all genders and age groups. It helped him win many awards like Best Pop Male Vocalist at the 1996 Screen Awards and the Channel V Viewers Choice Award in 1997. One of his song from the album ‘O Sanam’ also got nominated at an international level at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards. He further released more solo albums like ‘Sifar’, ‘Aks’. ‘Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai and so on.
He also appeared as a playback singer and sang songs like ‘Walking And I Am Walking All Alone’ from Ek Baap Chhe Bete and ‘Nasha Nasha’ for the film Dushman Duniya Ka. He became a prominent name through songs like ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’ and ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’ from the film ‘Kaho Naa..Pyaar Hai’. His recent Bollywood track was ‘Safarnama’ from the film ‘Tamasha’ composed by AR Rahman.
