Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone who will share screen space for the very first time in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku, have already developed a warm equation through their interactions on the set of the film, that will see them essay the role of a father and a daughter.
While Deepika Padukone has been addressing Amitabh Bachchan as Baba (father) for a while now and has even referred to him by that name on a popular microblogging site, Mr.Bachchan reciprocated the gesture and has coined a nickname for Deepika too.
Sources reveal that the superstar refers to Deepika as “Deepiku” – Says Juhi Chaturvedi, the writer of the film , “The way they address each other, on and off the sets, shows the comfortable relationship they share,” .
PIKU produced by MSM Motion Pictures, in association with Saraswati Entertainment Creations Limited and Rising Sun Films is slated for release this year.
