Today marks 45 years since superstar Rajinikanth began his journey in the film industry. He comes from humble beginnings as it is a known fact that he did various odd jobs from a bus conductor in the Bangalore Transport Service to a coolie. He debuted through a Tamil drama directed by K. Balachander titled Apoorva Raagangal in 1975. However, it was through his portrayal of a villain in the film ‘Baashha’ that earned him god-like popularity as the film turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Another one of his films, ‘Shivaji’ was the first film from the Indian entertainment industry to earn 100 crores.
Rajinikanth is truly one of the very few celebrities from the Indian film industry that is considered to be the greatest and most popular.
On this joyous occasion, many important dignitaries wished the actor for having a grand journey in these 45 years!
